Hand Saving Tip

Last night I was cooking some root vegetables. The recipe called for a mix of potatoes, carrots, and turnips to first be tossed in oil. The next step was to coat the baking dish with oil as well. I would have once used a paper towel for this job, but we've sworn them off as one small way to create less trash. Urban Waste – A Veritable Gold Mine!

Move!

If I were a bit more mindful of my tasks and not so attached to the outcome, I’d enjoy my work more and suffer less physically. I must be watchful of overdoing. This tendency and its result are obvious during my days in the garden. I’ll have a bed I want to put in or a walkway I MUST get constructed over the weekend. More Kitchen Window Gardening

I've been growing sprouts in a sprouting jar for years and learned of sprouting leafy vegetables in containers in the window last winter, but I never knew about this until I caught it on Pinterest a couple of weeks ago.
